Willie mosconi was a 14:1 legend who seemingly shot 600+ then just stopped as he was getting bored. 9 ball wasnt played much in those days as it was all striaght pool.

The mosconi cup is like the ryder cup(golf) for pool. Unfortunaly with the short races you still dunno who the stronger team is, all just form of the day and luck for now.

Most entertaining pool pundit of all IMHO is Danny Diliberto, for anyone who's watched any accustats material.

Double act with Grady Matthews is a classic.

Best line ever (in broad new york accent) after Efren banks a ball cross side and goes 4 rails into the back of the rack as a break shot playing straight pool;

"if i'd have shot that shot, i'd have had a heart attack"

If Sid Waddell ever commentates on pool again, i stop watching.
