Is there any chance that in the future we could do something different with the monthly flyer?
I think maybe a straight KO with races to 10 could be better. Maybe we could have no handicaps to begin with but for winning a flyer you gain a * beside your name. What this means is that each * is a +1 start for your opponent. If you win 6 events on the run you give a scratch player a 6 - 0 start to 10!
The benefits of this format would suit most players. The day will be shorter, players will still have good value for money and the draw will be more open for all.

Cheers Tony.
Maybe it's an idea then to ask for feedback on the events as they currently are. It's all that we have locally so it's in all of our interests to make it as good as it can be. In a 16 man bracket, sure there would be 8 R1 losers but there isn't anything to stop players from practicing on a free table as we usually get 6 tables. The only thing that isn't fun with the single elimination is drawing a top stick but if you set the payout for top four or even top three whoever makes the cash will have earned it. It gives a player who normally would be playing for fun a chance to win some money!

I seem to remember you splitting in a final with Andy around Christmas 2012 Tony?
The only real winner at the end of the day is the game of Pool. We're all suckers for playing it...
