It needs to be handicapped cause no matter how much lower cats pay it's just a donation

I disagree, look at Banham beating one of Spains top players at GB9...

It's possible to beat a big gun and if players want to improve they should play better players. Simple as that.

i think a similar comp with handicaps n bigger entry fees would be far more interesting. like 50 a man . these little pots mek me not concentrate lol

This will now be handicapped the level 1/2 players will play off -2 the cat 3 players will play off scratch and the 4/5/6 players will play off +2 hope this will be what people are looking for!

You could put level 3 4 5 at +6 start n it still wouldn't be enough, want jam on it all the time, make it race to 9s n cat 3 4 5 6 n receive 6 start n maybe just maybe they might enter, good luck mate ye will need it with the lower cats,if there not 80% fav they don't want to know,no wonder they don't improve, there happy getting 3 chances a rack n winning n we all know who I'm we're on about, never improve

Its stupid mate, dont quite think 3 chances a rack is fair but know what you're saying. There isn't any need to be disrespectful to all lower level cat players.

If I could afford to travel to Wakey more and play Chris/Mark/yourself/Arfan and whoever else,Id quite happily lose a tenner a set to get punished, learn from my mistakes and come back a stronger player for it. I strive to play 'one chance pool' where I can but you need the strong players to punish you, and make you wake up a little more.

Except for darts, there isn't another sport/game where you can enter so cheaply and draw top quality players. It makes me laugh how the same players enter GB9 with no chance of even making the last 8 and spend probably £250 a weekend for the privilege.

the problem i see is that cat 6s seem to be deemed same handicap as level 4 which is ridiculous, only in the pool world. its like halifax playing wolves at soccer where both teams put up their cash... just wouldnt happen would it in any other sport

Don't see why top players have to pay more and give handicaps lol... One or the other is fair enough for me!

Hahaha! Sooner play off levels for small amounts myself. Don't mind paying tenner to test myself. Only reason I did my own for lower cats before is cos it was 100 entry and everyone had a fair shout at winning.
