hi,

that function requires a members password to get into, so for now, best to register first as an individual, you'll recieve a membership application pack, return that completed and you will receive a membership no with which you can then register your team.

Best wishes

Tone

Hi All

I've been asked to clarify, who is eligible to play in GB9 Leagues.

Well the answer is everyone, however the are some restrictions on certain groups of players.

If you are registered in the last 2 years on a national/professional cue-sport tour ie GB 9 Ball Tour/ EPA/ Snooker etc and are ranked in the top 32 (snooker top 64) as of Dec 1st 2009 or have represented England in the last 5 years at a cue-sport, you are not eligible to earn points to qualify for the prize fund.

However you are able to play and your team points do count towards the prize fund.

Secondly, in any one team, there can only be a maximum of 1 top 32 player (top 64 snooker) or 2 top 32-64 ranked players. This INCLUDES reserves.

Any other questions please pm or email, thanks

Hi all

been asked to clarify the format of play.

You play in teams of three, 6 singles and three scotch doubles. races to 3.

This means that each player will play 4 times in an evening. twice in singles play twice in scotch doubles.

eg:

1 v
2 v
3 v
1 v
2 v
3 v
1+2 v
3+1 v
2+3 v

Hope this helps

Hi All

Been asked to clarify how teams are picked?

A - You do!

The best way is to pick people you already know, friends or fellow players in the club. If you are new to the club and dont know many people, speak to the manager of the club. They will take your details and just before the closing date for entries they will hold a free session of pool so you can all meet up and decide who wants to be in each others team.

Regards

Big Tone

Hi All

We are still suffering a few gremlins in our website, but be assured all information sent through is safe, our problem lies with e mailing you from gb9leagues.com.

So for now i have personally responded from my private email address to everyone who has enquired. There will be more information to follow.

I've been asked to make clear the following, yes 114 Rileys clubs are taking part in the leagues system which starts early in January.

If you havn't registered now is the time to do so.

Registration is in two parts.

Firstly, everyone needs to be a member - individually. This is to ensure you earn your ranking points which could be worth a lot of CASH!.

Secondly, you need to pick a team, the function to register a team on the website requires your individual membership numbers. So if your not registered individually - you wont be able to register your team.

Closing date for individual memberships is Monday 21st Dec - TWO WEEKS!.

Closing date for team registration is Monday 28th Dec - THREE WEEKS!

So come on guys and girls lets get our teams picked, get registered and lets crack on and see who is the best amatuer and team in the UK.

PS

if you approach your local club and are told they're not taking part please PM me ONLY, please dont post publically.

This way it will give me a chance to resolve any issues.

Many Thanks

Big Tone

Personal opinion Tone and response from my club i think your going to struggle to find a minimum of 12 players at each club that are prepared to pay £19.95 membership and £20 for first month during December or January. I am struggling to get Monday league night money out of my lot. Pool players tend to be students or gamblers never seem to have any money down here.

Even after xmas period i think its going to be hard to find enough people to start it.

Sorry just a bit of feed back m8 i really really wan this to work but at the moment i don't think Bournemouth are going to be able to find 4 teams of 3 people by 28th December.

How have other people found the response at there club and do you think you will find the minimum of 12 people to start a league?

With respect Simon, i disagree.

firstly because i've had 9 enquiries from your club, 2ndly at £5 anight with free table time and club incentives it is a bargain night out, and thirdly because everyone in the pool world who i have spoke to over the last 12 months has said they cant wait for something like this to happen.

Your local Rileys is one of the bigger clubs and i expect to fill the league requirement quite easily.

Regards

Tone

I'm confused as to why this thread has dropped off....everyone in our local club is talking about this...!?! Even the English 8 Ballers want to give it a whirl. Isn't this what OUR sport has been needing in this country? From what I could see, the only mention of our sport's show-piece event in the national newspapers (admittedly I may be wrong) was hidden away within a swimming article....is this really what we see as the pinnacle in this country?

Also...I get the impression that some people are content with their in-house leagues. Not that there's anything wrong with in-house leagues, our local 9 ball league has evolved over 10 years to the point that nobody's girlfriend would dare suggest planning a night out on a Tuesday, they know what the answer will be...'tis a sacred thing. But there's got to be room for both.

I guess I'm just saying, in a round about way, that I would've expected more discussion. Is it perhaps because CD hasn't posted?
