Hi all! New to the forum and looking for some advice, if possible. I used to play snooker mainly to quite a reasonable standard and now play a mixture of 9 ball and US 8 ball. I'd like to get a cue to call my own rather than using bent and twisted club/pub cues (I don't use my snooker cue for fear of damaging it - that could be me being paranoid, though) . I would say I play to a reasonable standard. I am by no means a professional. I make mistakes like everybody does. I am better than most of my mates, can use side to good effect and regularly make large clearances to win games. I have a budget of about £150 ish to pick up a cue. I prefer simple looking cues and don't like the look of elaborate cues, personally (for example, my snooker cue is a John Paris classic, rather than one of the more elaborate cues he makes). A friend of mine lives in Canada and I was going to see if he could send me a Lucasi LZ2000SP, which seems to get a nice review. It seems like a lot of effort to obtain a decent american pool cue in the UK! But, having stumbled upon this site with interest I can see there's a decent selection of cues available (though most are above my budget!). I have seen a Lucasi LZD 6 Pool Cue here, though. Does anyone have any opinions of this cue? Or any suggestions for a cue within budget generally? As above, I prefer a more understated look, rather than an elaborate pattern/colour scheme. Thank you for the help and apologies if this post brings sighs. I imagine assistance is asked for reasonably regularly.

Hi effectone I just had same problem as I was looking for a cue for my mate ex snooker player. He very likes my Z2 shaft of predator but obviously its over your budget but is very similiar to snooker cue shaft with 11.75 mm tip. He ended up on Poison VX 2.9 cue and is very happy about that but still cant get to use large tip size. I play Poison cue as well and also have brand new Z2 shaft but cant feel it right as tip size is so small. You cant go wrong with Lucasi cues as well as poison and dond need to buy venom2 shafts as they play exactly the same to me. My target is one of Lucasi Hybrid Thorsten model but budget still stopping me... [ This message was edited by: sinnerro on 2016-01-10 07:04 ]

*** POST DELETED BY ADMIN ***Sorry, but I had to delete a post in the forums today... While the original post was asking for advice, it was fine, but when someone offered a cue for sale, that broke our "no selling in the forums" rule. I have to enforce this rule as there are some semi-professional cue sellers out there who would love to sell cues in our forums, but the forums and indeed the maintenance of the whole website is paid for by The Pro Shop and this revenue stream has to be protected. (Obviously I relax these rules for our sponsors and partners as they contribute significantly to the upkeep of the site too - but these individuals/companies are clearly identified as authorised advertisers in their forum signature). There aren't many rules for our forums, but I know they aren't easy to find, so I'm happy for the opportunity to re-post them from time to time... No advertising, no links to businesses/shops/eBay, no swearing, respect our sponsors and each other, no hate! ...I guess I should clarify no "wanted" adverts, but I'm proud of the fact that we don't have pages and pages of forum rules - and I appreciate that our readers are a better bunch than some of the nitwits you see posting on other places on the internet - and I thank my lucky stars for that. Hope this is OK with the poster of the delete message and everyone else? BDK. ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor
