I have a sneaky petes 9 ball cue with a predator Z shaft. The joint has got stuck in the middle. It won't do up or undo. Does anyone know if there is someone in the UK that could fix it? Probably would need a whole new joint or the existing joint would need re-threading if the cue could be pulled apart. [ This message was edited by: Administrator on 2013-01-05 13:44 ]

Cues butts and shafts that stick together, have tight fitting joint pins, and are difficult to unscrew is a problem I hear fairly regularly, and the secret I tell everyone is to put a little cue wax on the joint pin and it'll undo easier next time. Getting the cue to unscrew can be very difficult but in my experience all cues can be made to unscrew without damaging the joint as long as care is taken. Normally a combination of measured brute force (try using two people with a rubber glove each) and perhaps the tiniest drop of freeing agent like WD40 very carefully applied to the metal part of the joint. (Clean off the freeing agent with a clean cloth as soon as possible, and NEVER clean the pin with anything abrasive like wire wool). I hope this helps you and anyone else in a similar predicament. All the best, Big Dave. ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor

Thanks dave. Your rubber glove WD40 method worked No apparent damage to joint. Will get some cue wax to try and prevent it happening again.
