Hey all, Just thought I'd post a new practice routine that I started today at my local pool hall, my mate Dougie showed me this one so the credit goes to him: Use the 9 balls Place the 2 & 6 ball a little bit out from top left corner pocket @ the baulk line end of the table. Place the 4 ball in the corner pocket across from the 2 & 6 Place the 1 ball a little bit out from the left centre pocket Place the 8 ball a little bit out from the right centre pocket Place the 3 & 7 a little bit out from the bottom left corner pocket Place the 5 ball a little bit out from the bottom right corner pocket Finally place the 9 on the spot, but watch out this makes the run out a bit of a nightmare if position is even just a little bit off you got problems. I tried this for 3 hours today & only ran out once because I got sloppy & got hooked when I thought the runout's were in the bag so don't take this routine for granted it is TOUGH!. If you've got Adobe ShockWave installed, go to this site and layout the balls in the positions you're talking about and add any lines/arrows you think might help and then click on "Copy Layout URL" and post the link here, and I'll magically turn it into a picture so we can all see what you're talking about more clearly. http://pool.bz/CueTable.php[ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2012-11-13 17:32 ]

Here is the layout for the runout I posted on azbilliards, forgot to mention in the original post that if you miss a ball or scratch you start from the beginning, the 1 ball is a free shot as you start with BIH & you MUST run the balls in rotation: 9 ball runout [ This message was edited by: 9ball on 2012-11-14 17:23 ]

Here's a quick simple one I made up. Simply take ball in hand and clear up in one visit using the normal rules of 9 ball. Each ball is about 0.5cm away from the rails. It's good fun and tougher than you think on a tight table. http://www.gb9balltour.com/lee/photos/hard_run_out.jpg [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2012-11-15 17:45 ]

Here's something new that most people will never have tried. If you play at a club and there are loads of empty tables, ask the bar staff if they can borrow you an extra set of balls! Assuming you have a seperate white, throw out 32 balls onto the table and rack them as follows: Row 1: 1 Ball Row 2: 2 Balls Row 3: 3 Balls Row 4: 4 Balls Row 5: 5 Balls Row 6: 6 Balls Row 7: 7 Balls Row 8: 4 Balls Don't bother using a triangle (you'll struggle to find one big enough! LOL) and just pull the lot back to the foot rail. The challenge is simple, break/run the complete rack in the style of 14.1! If this is too easy, try it with three sets of balls (48 object balls) Row 1: 2 Balls Row 2: 3 Balls Row 3: 4 Balls Row 4: 5 Balls Row 5: 6 Balls Row 6: 7 Balls Row 7: 8 Balls Row 8: 9 Balls Row 9: 4 Balls I did both a year or two ago but swore I would never try four racks of balls! This game is also call shot, have fun...
