Hello everybody! My name is Alexandra Cunha and I am a Portuguese poolplayer. I've arrived 1 weak ago to your country and now I am living at Eastbourne, East Sussex. I have searched on internet for pool rooms and went to Rileys in Brighton to play some 8 and 9 ball. I don't know if there is a place to play pool near my home, but maybe Hastings be closer... I wonder if anybody can help me with pool rooms with 9 feet tables near Eastbourne and I would like to know too if there are some tournments here in the area... 9 ball, 10 ball, 8 ball or straight pool I play them all And if there is any poolplayer who wants to practice some pool with me I will apreciate it a lot, because I don't know noone here... I'm sorry for my english, I need to practice that too AC

Welcome to England and welcome to Pro9 Alexandra... Thanks for bringing the nice weather with you! I hope you get some help from our forum members. I'm thinking Dave Verey, Luke Rollison, James Welch and "Team Lester" might have a better clue than me about this. can someoe give them a nudge if you see this and you know them please? ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor

Hi there Alexandra, my name is Paul Wensley and I am the cue sports manager here at Slick Willys in Worthing. You are more than welcome to pop over and try our facilities here. I am on the GB9 tour and we have a few good players over this way who would be willing to give you a game ( myself, Dean Mazirel, Luke Rollison, Greg Jansz, James Topliff). I am starting up another 9-Ball Grand Prix 4th September which will be a weekly handicapped comp run every Tuesday evening. Don't think Brighton has any comps or 9-Ball players over there anymore but I could be wrong. http://www.amcleisure.co.uk/#[ This message was edited by: virgy on 2012-07-23 12:37 ]

And... BigDave, thank you for your welcoming words. Now that I arrived there will be no more rainy days in England xx

Hi Alexandra. My name's Tom Staveley and yes, I am originally from Brighton as Barry mentioned however I now reside in East London. I do occasionally pop back down to Brighton from time to time so, should I have my cues with me, I will give you a shout. The tables in Brighton got reclothes and rerubbered not too long ago so they should be in an alright condition (for a Riley's anyway!).
Welcome to England!

I don't even know if these clubs are still open, but it might be worth phoning and seeing if they know anything?

WOW... That's a shame about the QBall - I know a few clubs are always closing, but from what I saw it was a decent snooker club.
I know they used to have a really well organised 9 Ball League in Brighton Rileys previously... Maybe YOU need to be the one to start it up again, with some help perhaps?

Worst here in Rileys Reading, previously they have 2 American table and now they are all disappeared and replaced by english pool table. Nearest club is Hurricane in Highwycombe, but seems lack of 9ballers in there.
