GB9 Rules for this one but a golden break or combination to the 9-Ball doesn't end the game! All balls must be pocketed obviously excluding the C-Ball. You break off and play from where the C-Ball lies. After the break you have as much planning time as you like and the clock starts as soon as you hit the C-Ball! Me and my brother played Scotch Doubles for our time of 31.9 seconds (timed with an iPhone) and we think it's pretty decent but we'd like some competition! This was for 7 balls as 2 were pocketed on the break! Let us know how you get on as we want to get below 30 seconds next time...

LOL!
I got to chat to Earl "The Pearl" in Vegas not so long ago and he gave me a load of tips and one was to experiment with my speed and play with 60s, 45s, 30s, 15s and so on shot clocks! 15s is far too severe (for me) but 30s feels pretty good when the balls are open and I'm finding that I'm less likely to miss rather than playing at 45s and certainly 60s.
Earl "The Pearl"... misunderstood GENIUS!

BTW, my point was going to be, he actually believes that professional pool should be played with a 10s shot clock, ha!

We've just tried it but by starting the clock when the break is made. Dom managed it in 2 hours 43 mins, it was helped by the fact he potted 8 balls from the break and the 9 was over the corner bag

This had me thinking and it brought back memories of a classic comment from one of my old golfing pals. Our mate Steve is a notorously slow player, very methodical and a particularly slow back swing. Richard commented one day in his broad Barnsley accent... by eck Steve a could eat a full pork pie on your back swing and finish it before you hit the ball. I was rolling all over the tee with laughter
