Hello, I have just moved to Pembroke from overseas and am looking for someone to practice with in either Swansea or Cardiff for a day every now and then. I was on the UK tour a few years back and enjoy serious games. I am looking for a good player to split the table costs and have a good match. If there are any players in this neck of the woods please let me know. Cheers [ This message was edited by: jasper on 2012-06-02 01:07 ]

We get asked this question every couple of years, and the brutally truthful answer is that despite having the Wor;d Pool Championships in Wales (Cardiff) for five consecutive years, there seems to be a real lack of American Pool players in Wales.

Phil Hendrickson is in Cardiff. He plays on the wheelchair tour and has won an event on there and holds his own with the top wheelchair guys. Perhaps he might be interested, I'm sure if you want more info then Tony Southern (Tigger 147) may help you? Craig Marsh is in Swansea, class cueist as well. Plays more blackball then 9-ball, but sure he might play you. Not sure if he's on here but he is on facebook. [ This message was edited by: BFrench501 on 2012-06-02 07:14 ]

Thank you for all of your help. I think that I will go to Cardiff Airport and then to Amsterdam which is only an hour and play at Club 8 http://www.club-8.nl/index.jsp?USMID=90420 which seems a better bet to find good playing conditions and players for a long weekend. As you guys have pointed out - everything else in Wales seems a little hit and miss (sorry about the pun) and few and far apart. Its no fun travelling miles and then ending up hanging around a unfamiliar club all day with no one turning up (I think most of us have been there one time or the other!). I used to live in California which was brilliant as there where clubs everywhere and an abundance good players. Especially in Hardtimes Billiards in Bellflower where you could walk in any time of the day and find a match up. I think I have moved too far into the middle of nowhere this time. Thanks for all of your help. [ This message was edited by: jasper on 2012-06-05 11:09 ]
