Amazing value when you think of it... Cheaper than a cube of chalk! Anyone who bought Kamui Chalk should also DEFINITELY get an hour with Alan sorted... I can't describe what a difference a bit of knowledgeable coaching can do for your game - no matter how advanced you may be.

Yes, he did! It always amazes me that pool players will invest hundreds of pounds in expensive looking cues and cases, and yet when it comes to something that can really make massive improvement to your enjoyment of the game, i.e. good quality coaching that improves your skill, technique, your mental game and your success rate - it's seems like pool players feel they know it all already. If that's the case, ask yourself if you are winning enough, or should you, and could you, be winning more? All the top snooker players get coaching, and good coaching really works. I've seen bad coaching, and I've seen good coaching - and Alan is absolutely superb... He really know's his stuff, and could help almost anyone - he should be charging twice as much as his is - you'll never get a better deal, and you've only got to look at the people who endorse him on his website to see people who have had major successes. I've only ever heard good things said about Alan... I was chatting on the phone to someone last night (for 3 and a half hours!!!) and Alan's name popped up, and sure enough, he'd had coaching from Alan, and was extremely complimentary. Alan Bell is an asset that UK pool players should be taking advantage of - let's not lose him to another sport or country. Do yourself a big favour a book Alan now - that's my advice to anyone - from top pro's to rank amateurs! ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2012-05-01 11:37 ]

I agree with all of Daves comments here, If anyone wants a discussion about Alan as a coach then feel free to drop me a line.
Well worth the money... and I was a sceptical doubter when it came to coaching just because i had been playing for years and thought it would be very diffifcult to implement any changes to my game.
I was wrong.
each to their own, give it a go, got nothing to lose

I whole heartily agree with Ossie, Alan really opened my eyes up to my game and the improvements needed. To me Alan is, as Dave put it, an asset - IMHO, a little national treasure.

I guess we'll see who's been using Alan's services at the next GB9 - I honestly think he can make that kind of difference in results.

Hi everybody it's Alan Bell, I've been away coaching for a while abroad. First I'd like to thank Dave Knight and Graig Osbourne etc for there kind words, just a few things about me if you don't already know I've been coaching for 25yrs, I've coached in 5 World Championship finals and many victories as a coach in many ranking tournaments. I have gained a lot of experience in those years coaching all levels, one of my main straightens is helping players with their inconsistencies be it mental or technical. I can help players get out of their own way mentally so they play with more instincts, feel and routine. Technically I can find a way for each individual to play with a more simplified action. I hope this interests you, I love coaching please don't hesitate to contact 07547 740207

Alan,
It's interesting that you was talking about consistency in that last message. With the 9-Ball what I'm finding is that from day to day my performance is all over the place. On Tuesday I went out and ran 7 racks back to back (my best ever) and today I was an utter disgrace. On Sunday I was also terrible but it seems like I'm really two completely different players. I have very solid days where everything feels great and then seemingly without changing anything my game leaves me for reasons unknown. I think the inconsistency is mental primarily and that it's effecting the physical but I have no idea what's going on and it's upsetting me.

No problem! I've been having a little read online trying to pick out some tips on consistency and it seems like there's a million and one different things that can ruin you. I'll probably be having a good week off and then I'll go back to the basics and plan some good practice and stick to it...

I've got to say I have always been a bit reserved about getting coaching and live near Alan Bell. We have talked about having a few lessons for probably a year or two but I always ended up backing away from arranging a lesson for one reason or another.
Anyway a few weeks ago I was hitting a few balls in Rileys Ipswich after a game with Ossie and Alan happened to be there and talked me through a few things. This finally convinced me to book a lesson and see what happens.
It is unbelievable how much knowledge he has, I had a few weaknesses that I wanted to work on and he had a solution to all of them, a solution that is unique to the person that he is coaching, he doesnt teach from a textbook, he tailors it for your own game.
3 weeks and 3 lessons on and I come away from GB9 having nearly won the main event!!
Coaching can only help if you are open and willing to accept change and implement new solutions to improve your game.
All that I can say is that with all the money we spend on cues, chalk, balls, tips etc... Spending £20-£40 to see if Alan can help improve your game is a worthwhile chance to take! I'm glad that I did anyway!

Thanks for your feedback Shaun. I have been thinking about having a few lessons, but like yourself have never actually gone through with it. (Although you have had 3 lessons now) I know i could learn a lot as i am no where up to your standards so i think it might be time to give him a call and get some coaching. I did try telling everyone about this... I don't want to "out" people here, but the percentage of people who book a few sessions with Alan, and then appear in GB9 finals is huge. I wish more players would heed these words and do the one thing that really does make the biggest and fastest improvement to your game and your results. If you find yourself playing well in practice, but struggling in tournaments, or if you know you can do better, book him up. Even the best snooker players get coaching when they need a boost - so should you! ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2012-07-20 13:47 ]
