Player details on www.epconline.eu
even though 6 or more of top 20 players in Europe are Brits
Not one gb Male player apart from wheelchair squad oing to epc
Paddy mc is down as gb as no Irish federation exists
Come on guys is it just about the money and what can be done to change it

Am sure if gb players had the funding they would attend the EC. Most players get funded by their federations but we don't even have one. Maybe gb9 could look at funding some players, maybe take a very nominal percentage from entry fees to fund some players for the EC. I was recently advised by David Morris that we need to get a federation organised fairly snappy otherwise we won't be allowed to play Eurotours letalone the EC. It's a shame because we have such a strong contingent of players, am sure we would have produced a few European Champions by now if we actually participated.

i may be able to shed some light on this topic.......

there is a federation currently being formed and we hope to have it up and running after the next gb9, we are set to have our general meeting at the next gb9 and all the players will be welcome to attend

we will also have some fantastic news regarding spots for the euros, and players at last will be funded to attend

all will be revealed at the next gb9 tour event

disappointing to see no irish federation. Paddy Mc does half of the organising and all himself over here. Hes a great man for the game to represent Ireland and Fred Dinsmore too

I understand that the new federation will cover all of the British Isles including Ireland.

A sneaky move Cueman!

Are you trying to reclaim Ireland using the power of pool?

We gave up (or were booted from) Ireland a long time ago.

Cueman... rebuilding the empire.

"The British Isles

The expression "British Isles" is geographical and not political. They are a group of islands off the northwest coast of Europe consisting of Great Britain, the whole of Ireland, the Orkney and Shetland Islands, the Isle of Man, the Inner and Outer Hebrides, the Isle of Wight, the Scilly Islands, Lundy Island, the Channel Islands and many other smaller islands. A list of the main islands of Great Britain is to be found on another page on this site."

Thanks for the geography lesson cueman. Maybe I was just expecting a national federation to represent a nation rather than a collection of land masses. Silly me lol

Hopefully the name of the new federation willbe GB & Ireland as they don't want to miss out on epc and eurotour events

Geographical or political, I'm sure most of our Irish friends
would still raise an eyebrow over the term British Isles.

The Scots and Welsh will probably raise their eyebrows as well!

Still like your idea of rebuilding the empire using the power
of a pool cue.

British isles is not the name of the new federation
But the term still has its meaning

I know a little about British/Irish terminology and history, after all I'm engaged to a very proud Irish girl!

So the new Federation should be the GBNIEOSIoMI&OHIoWSILICIetc Pool Federation or Great Britain, the whole of Ireland, the Orkney and Shetland Islands, the Isle of Man, the Inner and Outer Hebrides, the Isle of Wight, the Scilly Islands, Lundy Island, the Channel Islands and other smaller islands dotted around our fair isle Federation! Got a ring to it lol.
