I must admit I don't see the logic in reducing entry fees and reducing prize money. Last year it cost 140 euro pr tourney if you signed up for all at once - this year it cost 100 euro. If 100 players take this option, then EPBF will 'lose 4000 euro compared to last year!!! I know I'd rather pay the extra 40 euro entry and have the chance to win a bigger prize. Personally I pay event by event, paying 150 euro last year and this year it is 125 euro. My goal is to reach the LQ, which last seaon gave 400 euro! This year th LQ gives 300 euro, meaning that I save 25 euro on the entry fee, but 'lose' 100 euro in prize money compared to last year!

I do fear that the reduction in prize money will have more of an effect than the reduction in entry fee, but we'll have to wait and see.

What do you guys think?

I think the reduction in prize money is going to cause a few problems for our top professionals as well. With Mosconi Cup ranking points being derived from these tournaments (unless already been changed) it is very difficult for a Pro to break even.

Consider Darren Appleton and Chris Melling who are flying half way round the world to these events to gain Mosconi Cup points - If they don't reach the semi-finals then they are losing money.

I think from a Mosconi standpoint Matchroom will have to seriously look at the way points are dished out.
