I really disagree. You are making this comp exclusive to people who live close by because the only way anyone far away is making any money is by reaching the final.

If you reduced winners prize to £300 and Runner up to £150 they still get a great deal while you can up Quarters to £50 and Semis £75. That at least is fairer and £300 is still a very nice sum of money.

The comps I have ran have been gratefully recieved by the players because while the payout structure is flatter, you get rewarded better for making it through a tough field.

Anyway its your comp not mine but theres my reason for not entering. I can give my opinion but its up to you. I just think its wrong to not reward players sufficiently.

Barry thanks for the feedback - its noted and if enough players who want to 'enter' feel the same I may decide to change it

Well I would enter if the prize fund was fair. As it is not I do not wish to because its a bloody joke. You expect people to support your comps then you basically take the mick with how you distribute prize money.

My bile? How I am treating you? You want to look at your last post yourself before having a go at me. You are saying you will listen to those who enter but not those who don't. The reason I am not entering is because it is not right. By entering, I accept your prize distribution, which I think is wrong.

You honestly can tell me you'd travel to London for a comp, pay £35 entry and accept beiong paid that amount back, despite fuel food and parking expenses? Come off it Tony, you'd be as annoyed as anyone else.

No tournament structure should be set so that only 2 people make any profit...it is wrong.

Well said Tony.

You put the time in to put on a tournament and even acknowledge some negative feedback but then get accused of taking the mick it being a 'bloody joke'.

Comp looks great to me BTW. Good luck with it.

Don't put yourself down mark! Yeah credit to Tony here. He is only person in north west who runs comps and deserves more credit for trying to keep interest and competitive 9 ball tournies. Negative feedback doesn't help. If you think you're gonna win baz we will wire you the cash and save you the journey.

i actually agree with Baz's views on the prize money but definitely disagree with the approach he uses to air his views, it doesn't do your arguements any favours Baz so try and tone it down a little and you might find that people might listen to you more.

Just my two pence for what it's worth. Keep up the good work Tony

Fwiw, I also agree with Baz's point about the prize fund balance, but I also understand that it's difficult to have any kind of attractive payout percentage without some sponsor adding prize money to an event and so, which is something that alot of tournament organizers have headaches with.

I also believe it's only right to give Tony credit for setting up and running any 9Ball tournaments in the NW area, which is something that no-one else seems to be able, willing and/or interested in doing on any regular basis.

jm2c fwiw also.

Willie

I accept the feedback on the prize money, and will take a look at it taking account all the views. Thanks for the support guys, a few of you entering would be good.
Barry- I think the message here is that it's not what you say it's how you put it across to others, I have traveled far and wide and paid out more than I could ever hope to get back, but I don't just play for the money (although it is nice to be in the prize money now and again), I go to play pool
As has been said above there are no other events in the northwest especially now that Manchester Riley's is gone.
I will have a look at all the views in terms of the structure if that fills more spots. And you would be welcome to attend but please look at your posts and tell me you would be happy someone posting that one of yourcomps
