Hello
I am a new member to the site and wanted to see if there are any people local to Birmingham who would like to meet for regular games of 9 Ball?
I would class myself as an average player and it would be great to meet up with other like-minded players in the area.
Hope to hear from people soon via this site.

Hi Tigger - that's useful information, thank you. Do you happen to know which clubs they use?

mister_croft Whereabouts in Birmingham are you? I visit family in Erdington from time to time and there's a nice Brunswick Gold Crown I in Erdington Snooker Club. Happy to play you Baz

Solihull Rileys... handful of tour players all levels and few regulars who enjoy a game also.. Handicap comp every Wed £10 in, all prize money paid and free tables from around 7pm onwards for duration of night providing you have entered competition... Hope this helps Al Coton [ This message was edited by: NeedTheJuice on 2012-01-02 10:01 ]

Thanks for everyone who has responded.
Baz - I've sent you a PM. I didn't realise Erdington had a snooker club!
I'm in Gravelly Hill and without transport - how easy is Solihull to get to? If there are any people local to me who drive, I'd be happy to pay petrol money.
And if anyone plays in Brum itself, please drop me a line.

I'll be hopefully attending a few of the Solihull comps towards the end of January onwards so when I do I could get off the M6 at Spaggetti and pick you up. My only problem is my lad has just started attending the RAF Cadets at Cosford which is a Wednesday night also so I will only be able to attend 1 or 2 comps a month at best, providing the in-laws will agree to take him to Cadets.
If you can arrange transport in the meantime then no problem but I'll bump this thread again when I can make my first one. Regretably it will be back end of the month though.

The snooker club in Erdington is opposite the Tyburn Hse Pub. Last time I was there they only had 1 American table which was only 7ft. Check it out they may have installed some as it's been a while since I was last there. The next best club would be Riley's in Birmingham city centre. I don't play there so much now due to getting my own table but that would be your nearest. It's right by the hippodrome.

Roy, there is a snooker club actually in Erdington High Street. Its got a Brunswick Gold Crown in there, £5 an hour or 3 hours for a tenner. Far better quality than the tables at Rileys in Chinatown, believe me. Went into the Rileys at Castle Vale, still got loads of snooker tables but no American Pool tables. Forgot about that one it's upstairs I think that's why I forgot lol. I've always found the tables in china town to be ok. I would say there better than Solihull other than the 2 simonis tables.
