So if its a race to 7 or 45 minutes maximum what happens if you get to 40 minutes and the score is e.g. 4-2? Presumably the guy on 4 could now start to take 2 minutes on every shot so he would be sure of the win because the other guy won't have enough time to get 2 racks on the board.

From what I understand, in this round robin format every rack is counting. And it is not the # of match won that will determinating the final ranking of the group. So, in your exemple the interset of the guy who have 4 is to get 5, not to win the match by 4-2. [ This message was edited by: billbOK on 2011-11-29 16:50 ]

it's both... of course the guy on 4 wants to win the game to get the 3 extra points... brings me to the idea of doing only 2 extra points instead of 3 for the win... but every point counts, not only the extra points. so you want to get on 5 because the other 6 players in the group are not sleepin'
