I must say this is a great choice by matchroom as it will inject a freshness into the cup that has maybe been missing in the past.

BTW the US fans on azbilliards are up in arms over the selection & some of the comments are getting quite nasty & near the knuckle.

Yeah, link us up 9ball... There's no problems with links to AZ forums.

Incidentally, Charlie is a big supporter of Pro9 and a regular visitor here, although, like many Pro9'ers, he chooses not to post in the forums.

Think Charlie the man for job .. I'd be much happier if Earl was captain for sure as I think he be no good for team..

Other candidates Allen Hopkins,Jim Rempe , be good I think ESP rempe as he got that presence about him

I think it fair to give other people a chance ... ESP if not winning and Varner lost few times,

I really think captain is important even though not playing Johan showed that last year for team Europe helloed massive part in our success.. And I know Charlie really well I think they got the best man for job ... We will need to play our best to win am sure

How do you feel about hatch not been selected as a player. I think its good for Europe but would still rather he was playing than Morris from fans point of view. hatch as been good value last two years and would havebe good to see you play him again

Decent choice for me............

I dont think any American would overly fancy the job of tryin to captain a team to turn us Europeans over at the mo!

So for me i think a decent choice, and he will have a bit more fire and grit about him also...

Welcome Charlie ..:-)

You have to earn your way in team and it seems the top 5 in rankings are set... So Earl obviously didn't play good enough this year ... And hatch finished 6th just missing out.. I think rodney deserves it more as he won two bca ranking events this year hatch as not even reached a final this year.. So I think on form they got there best team ...

Euro side bit tougher to pick IMO as we all doing better than Americans in tournaments ESP on the world stage ...

I mean we could have a B team that would be capable of winning

See,peach, gray, alcaide, boyes, shaw, stepanov, ortmann, engirt, chamatetc .. All class players any of that list would make good team...

One thing for sure the Americans going tp be up for it and this year we will be determined after losing 2 years ago in Vegas and chirs a big character added to the team.. And they have big characters in jonny, dechaine,Morris ..so I think it be r
Great tv as always :-)

I had a nice chat with Charlie on Facebook last night, it appears he has some family over here......there was nothing but genuine signs coming from Charlie, I hope he has a good Mosconi (of course I hope we win) but I feel he deserves to not be heckled as he has said some lovely things about the brits.......lets make it a nice fair match up and fingers crossed we win but with the right spirit.........Charlie good luck! BRING IT HOME TEAM EUROPE!

darren and mark are good guys. even tho i cant understand darren sometimes and mark speaks too well like an radio announcer lol

coaching allison fisher the past year and odd months has been a pleasure. she lives in USA, but she's still very british.

The Brits are cool gang and i luv the way they stick together. So when we win the Cup they can all console each other well. Lol ;)
