Just to let everyone know, Imran has just phoned me to apologise and to explain himself a little further. On that basis, I have taken away this post. [ This message was edited by: thediamond on 2010-08-06 18:46 ]

Simon, i am glad i am not the only one that picked up on the choppers comment well out of order!! he basic point about being backed is tht he will happily throw a backers money at a game but not his own, not going to get a backer with that attitude

i have picked up on it too ! what an absolute joke of a statment to brand lesser players choppers ! mr majid saying you getting slandered by so called choppers and that your an ambassador for the sport, how about you show some respect to the people who look up to players such as your self !! imran majid will play any 2-3 rated player giving 3 to 21 bet your nor after a stake horse there are u ! basicly you want the choppers who u have refered to to line your pockets. there is a challenge there set mr appleton, or challenge the likes of karl, or the hitman as he been known to chuck a few quid about. shocked what i have read in this thread [ This message was edited by: the-hustler on 2010-08-06 17:33 ]

The term 'chopper' means pool player by the way. It is not used in a vindictive manner, although i shouldnt have used the word stupid, my apologies. The term actually originates from London Vicoria Rileys when i used to play there and was actually invented by myself. So in actual fact you could call Ralph Souquet or Bustamante a chopper doesnt mean they are bad or lesser players merely pool players who use a peice of wood to chop at balls. So in actual fact it is not out of order at all. Please get your facts right anything with a cue. [ This message was edited by: TheMaharaja on 2010-08-06 18:51 ]

Will tell everyone what i'd rather do with my money rather than play a game of pool. From the beginning of 2010 i have created a foundation to help young and dipriven children in and around the Manchester area by donating brand new pool tables and equipment to them from my own pocket(check out the articles on this website earlier on in the year). I have donated 2 brand new pool tables and equipment one in Openshawe and one in Moss Side to youth centres. Helping getting these kids of the streets and into supervised venues where they can play pool is part of my vision. These kids are dipriven and could be the future of our game. I am in the process of implementing a third one to the Manchester area and then move on to Birmingham where i will donate more tables from my own pocket................Thats what i'd rather do with my money!...........The Maharaja............a true ambassador for the sport......feet up with his tea and biscuits. The guy has apologised for the stupid word so let it lie.
Back on topic... surely someone will fancy a crack at Daz with a 5 or 10 start?

ok wow, i have missed alot. All i can say is Imran plays at my club. We all call each other choppers.. but all in good humour. He is always allowing players to join in practice with him, and helps out when he can with their game. He has apologised about the "stupid " comment, so i agree with Riggers, let it lie. Meet the man at my club shake on it and bury the hatchet. ----------------- THE PLACE TO BE MIST BAR POOL AND SNOOKER 236a high street HOUNSLOW 0208 572 9222 [ This message was edited by: DEMON on 2010-08-08 13:03 ]
