ack fcol, whoever is playing Dominic Clemmens would be better to take a sleeping bag, some pillows... and make sure you have some extra overnight staff in to serve plenty of breakfasts in the morning, cos that guy doesn't know when to take a shot.
If you want the match to finish in the same night, then I'd reccomend the use of a 30 sec shot clock during that match to stop him taking longer to shoot than needed.
Other than that, there looks to be an interesting line up.

Willie Is there anything in the WPA rules saying that you have a maximum time to play a shot Willie? That statement is about as pathetic as me saying "I think Kev doesnt take long enough on his shots so think you should put a minumum 10 second shot clock in operation" If playing at the speed (or lack of ) that Dominic plays at helps his game and makes him produce better standard pool for himself then there is nothing wrong with it. Wrong to force people to speed up IMO.

Well, fair play to you DC for being able to speed up your game and I'm not knocking your skills as a player because I know you shoot good pool, you wouldn't have been in the WPC's if you couldn't.
Your right Ads that there is no rule in the WPA about time restrictions, but realisticly there is a difference in making sure and taking too long, and I have met players who simply take too long in general.
It's a fair point that a player wants to make sure he makes the shot and be able to win, but it's also fair that most players don't want to be in a match where a race to 6 or 7 is only 1/2 way through after 90+ mins.
Also, there have been tournaments in the US with a 30 second shot clock and have produced higher standards of play, both in 9Ball and 14.1.

Yes, although recently not as often as I would like to, but yes I do play and have been playing for a long time and was playing 9Ball a few years before anyone had tournaments in the UK. Willie ----------------- If ya got 'em, smoke 'em [ This message was edited by: TheWizard on 2012-01-19 16:55 ]

Ads that's genius mate! If i take 10 seconds a shot i might make a few more!!! Bring that clock in i say... On a serious note i know Dominic has a reputation for playing slow, it's not a tactic though just his style so it causes me no problem what so ever... Looking forward to what should be a cracker.

Willie Just read through this thread and this post but don't take any notice Dom, You haven't got to justify yourself at what speed you play at, I have had no problem with your speed of play in any of our matches over the last few years, Anyway the best of luck to yourself and Robin in your games and fairplay to you both for making the trip from Cornwall to play at MMTV, Lets hope your match is not as long as your drive to Wakefield Damian [ This message was edited by: The-Omen on 2012-01-19 17:32 ]
