Appears to be a chap from NZ doc, semi finalist at Paris open 9 ball event 2011 do has gears, Daz got a tough draw against him in last 32. Let's see what he's made of!

I don't know what races they are playing in the last 32 stage but for a world championship they should definitely be playing more than race to 11. I would say it should be 15 at least.
