i think the reason that there arent as many challenges being thrown about is down to the fact people dont really know enough, if anything at all, about peoples games, also if any of the 3 or 4 ranked players are interested martyn taylor and jack whelan would be interested in a game of doubles, just a thought

it appears gary hopkins cant take up the challenge at the moment

so if the reaper still wants to challenge me for a wild card spot then lets get it on.....feeling gutted to be let down at short notice but oh well thats life

i think me and mark lovell know enough about each other now to know it will be a close battle
if you dont mind ringing him andy see if he still wants to challenge me i would appreciate it

Jack whelen isn't a level 3 or 4 he is a 2 or should be a 2 !

Although Scotch Doubles is a great change for the players and also means a shared responsibility in a money game they don't make great viewing.

It is no disrespect to the players at all but Scotch Doubles is naturally slower and provides less atmosphere than a singles game. We saw this with the ill-fated Melling/Boyes v Appleton/Majid match we did last year.

From a broadcast point of view both myself and Andy agree that MMTV is more of a spectacle and more exciting if it is a) 9-ball and b) Singles

I wonder who will dictate the speed of play in that one?

I agree that singles is a lot more exciting and certainly quicker but I think scotch doubles makes for interesting viewing. To be fair at the last mmtv our doubles match started at least an hour late and wasnt that slow really. I think one scotch doubles match per mmtv event is not a bad idea as it adds variety, maybe reducing the race to 15.

I know me and Adam were really looking forward to staying on and defending our spot. I really enjoyed the match and the experience!!!

just as a point of view you could do scotch doubles race to 15, 10 ball race to 18, and 9 ball is 21 anyway, wild card slots will fill up a lot faster i think and games can be confirmed. just a idea as i liked the scotch double but also agree that it shouldnt be televised.

No I realise that Andy but we would have liked the opportunity to play again if the match was right for the event.
