i did drop a hint for everyone. i heard SVB was playing on snooker tables with tight pockets to zone in. i guess it paid off. All the expert pool players told me Alex was favourite. I do love being right!!!

i dread to think what would happen to these 9 ball players if the top 64 snooker players decided to move to 9 ball. back to warehouse work for em based on that race to 100

Very true Gaz, but when you combine 9-ball knowledge and the precision of snooker practise for a one off event. Its a bit different from a snooker player with no real knowledge of the game.
In fairness there are a few ex-snooker players who are OK at 9-ball like Dazzler, Gray, Imran, Drago etc

Drago probably done best out the lot, World Masters, Mosconi MVP and Predator 10-ball. How can you compare in a race to 100 though? Best match played to 100 or more is the Color of Money match. The standard for that distance is insane! [ This message was edited by: BFrench501 on 2011-09-29 22:25 ]

that race to 100 what shane and alex did is completely different to playin in a race to 21 or a competition, cant even compare it to anything
i watched a lot of it and thought the standard was good, taking into account the 8-10 hours aday constantly playin pool, unless youve done it yourslef then youd never know what it feels like to be lining a shot up after say 170 racks n 25-30 hours worth of pool under ye belt, spoke to daz apps after his bartram match, towards then maybe when the score was in the 80s n 90s nearing the end,he said racks were goin by and didnt realise hed played them or to that affect, difference this time between shane n alex, shane didnt dog it and played great till the end
i kinda see what ye sayin in some parts of the game gaz but your not takin into account the length of the game and how many racks were played, when you play your race to 21 on sat youll find your drained with the concentration and effort thats put in and thats a 1/5th of what shane n alex did, plus it wiil last maybe 2 2 1/2 hours where theres was 8-10 hours
surely you have a different view on it after taking into account the length of the match and how mentally draining it was, especially when a player like appleton has done it and says it destroys you

nackers. id do it every week for rest of my life it was my profession n made a good living out of it. crucible matches are as much as draining n them boys standards carry on excellently . much rather race to 100 than play best of 33 snooker ( n thats just the final)

Gaz do you want a race to 100 then??? I have Aspergers Syndrome so cant keep my attention for long periods of time so should be an easy game for you. I'll put you up if you wanna do it over 2 days or just do it in one long stint? Home and Away you name the amount we'll play!

why would you wanna play to 100 when its supposedly "really tough" work? lol if the pros find it tough why do they continue to race to this number? why dunt they spread sessions out more?

Probably because the pros are capable of running so many racks together that a race to 21 can be over in 3 or 4 visits if they get a roll going? Maybe their backers want them to play a proper game so they getting their moneys worth? Who knows, iy could be any reason! But it makes for a truer test of somebodys ability when playing under extreme fatigue and duress.
