Three-In-A-Row All Ireland Championships For The Ginger Magician

Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour's number one ranked player Paddy Mc Loughlin swept through a strong field of players at The Mardyke Entertainment Complex, Sheares Street, Cork to claim his three in-a-row All Ireland American 8Ball Championship title with victory over the current All Ireland Under-21 Snooker Champion Graig Casey in a great and entertaining final.

This was the first time a All Ireland Championship was played in Cork hosted by Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour and also the first time played under the new Handicap system which was tried out before being introduced in 2009 on the Irish Tour.

"Read More..." for the details.

The four semi-finals pictured before play LtoR: Paddy Mc Loughlin (Down, winner),
Graig Casey (Cork, runner-up), Paul O' Leary (Wexford) and Peter Pechacek (Austria).

The new handicap system was a tremendous success with all the players praising the new format specially enjoyed by all the new players from the Munster County that entered this prestigious ranking tournament but after the day's play it was the tours number one ranked player who dazzled his away through the field to claim his third All Ireland American 8Ball Title.

With the new handicap system set in place Paddy had to be on top of his game right from the start and also dig deep on a number of occasions en route to securing victory and the title over Thomas Martin (Cork, 9-6), Leslie Walsh (Wexford, 9-5), Ron Furax (Holland, 9-6), Peter Pechacek (Austria, 9-7) before defeating Cork's fantastic potting machine and All Ireland Under-21 Snooker Champion Graig Casey in a fantastic final on a 10-6 score-line.

"I’m over the moon," said Mc Loughlin, "it was a fantastic tournament and I'm proud to have won this great event for the third time and specially three in-a-row, and with the new handicap system being introduced on the tour I’m really looking forward to the new season for a hard challenge plus I think the tour's going to get bigger and better with this new system being introduced."

Graig Casey
This fantastic young player, Graig Casey, would have a great future in any cue-sport game, with his natural ability he’s one of the best potters I have ever seen and hopefully he will get involved and be a regular player on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour over the years where he would be great addition to our game.

Graig reached the final with victories over Dermott Cotter (Cork, 9-3), Ronnie Boyle (Tyrone, 9-5), Dave Cremin (Cork, 9-8 ), and Paul O’ Leary (Wexford, 9-5) before losing to the three-in-a-row All Ireland American 8Ball Champion Paddy McLoughlin in the final.

Paddy McLoughlin
Great praise must go to the Ginger Magician for a fantastic achievement and effort on winning his third All Ireland American 8Ball Pool Championship and specially three-in-a-row and no-one deserves it more from all the dedication and practice he puts in to retain his high standard in tournament play on the Irish tour.

Mardyke Entertainment Complex
