Paddy Mc Louglin made it two victories in as many weeks as he captured the Co.Down American 8Ball Open which was held in T.J's Pool Hall in Newry.
On his way to the final, Paddy had impressive wins over Rafa Paluch 7-5, David Poole 7-3, and the match of the tournament against Manny Byrne in which Paddy was trailing 6-3 with Manny having six break finishes to Paddy's two, but Paddy showed the experience and composure to get back into the match to trail 8-7.

It was Manny breaking for the match at 8-7 and that's the last shot Manny got as Paddy cleared from Manny's break and then broke and dished in the decider to win 9-8. Paddy said after his win, ''That's probably the best I have ever played''.
On the other side of the draw it was the tour's in-form player Declan Hughes, the number 1 seed, who was doing all the business, reaching the final as he dispatched Piotr Bujniewiew 7-1, Paul Strawbridge 7-2 and Paul Tierney 7-0 to play Paddy Mc Loughlin in the highly anticipated final.
The first few frames of the final were a cagey affair as both players failed to make balls on the break, but the match changed in favour of Mc Loughlin when the scores where poised at 4 3 to Hughes as he was clearing up to go 5 3 ahead. Unfortunately, an easy miss let Mc Loughlin in to take the frame and level the scores at 4-4, and this is when "Ireland's Best" stamped his authority on the match and ran away a clear winner on a 9-4 scoreline.
