Nicknamed The Magician, Reyes has won over 70 international titles, and he was the first player to win world championships in two different disciplines of pool. Many analysts and fans consider Efren to be the greatest pool player of all time. His fame began when he beat Nick Varner in the US Open Nine Ball Championship in 1994. He was the first non-American player to win the event.

Ralph Greenleaf

Ralph Greenleaf was an American professional pool player. During his era, the championships mostly consisted in games of straight pool, but varied in format from tournament to tournament. He was one of the first three members included in the Billiard Hall of Fame in 1966. He was also ranked 3rd on the Billiards Digest 50 Greatest Players of the Century. Sadly, he died of suddenly at the age of 50 in Philadelphia. His death came just days before a scheduled match in New York.

Luther Lassiter

Born on November 5, 1918, Luther Lassiter, also known as Wimpy, was an American pool player from North Carolina. Throughout his career, he won six world championships and countless other titles. Luther is considered the true master of a nine-ball, with many people crowning him as the greatest to ever play in that category. He was inducted into the Billiard Hall of Fame in 1983, and ranked 9th on the Billiards Digest 50 Greatest Players of the Century. Luther passed away on October 25, 1988 from natural causes.

Willie Mosconi

In 1924, Willie Mosconi was the juvenile straight pool champion at the age of 11. The man was destined to do great things. Mr. Pocket Billiards was his nickname, because he had such a stylized way of playing, using many trick shots, and helped to popularize pool as a national sporting activity. After having a stroke in 1956, Mosconi lowered the number of his appearances in order to recover. He even published his autobiography in 1993, titled Willie’s Game. That same year, he died from a heart attack in his home in New Jersey.

Earl Strickland

The Pearl is an American professional pool player who is considered to be one of the best nine-ball players of all time. His highest WPA ranking was at the number 1 spot. He started playing pool at the age of 9, and since then, he became world champion three times - in 1990, 1991, and 2002. He is also a multiple winner of the prestigious Player of the Year Award. Earl is also the only pool player ever to win the World Championship in consecutive years. Apart from the world titles, his cabinet is filled with many others, and his most recent is the 2018 German Pool Masters.
