I hope someone else watched this also!
It was the most amazing final ever!
Nixon goes 6-0 down to Adams in sets in a race to 7. It was going to be a complete white wash. Then, from no where, Nixon starts slotting them in and Adams has no answer. Adams has 2 chances to take the title, misses, and Nixon kept coming back.
6-6, arguably the greatest comeback ever by Nixon, Adams then shows real heart and wins the last set 3-0.
Talk about pressure. If only Nixon had won!

second rate darts played for no apparant reason we all know Taylor and Barney and several others from the PDC would have hammered both players.
if you notice they went on a break at 6-0 it would not suprise me to learn words were had to ensure there was at least a match to keep viewers.
it makes me laugh that no one even mentions the PDC players even in the context of previous years its like they deny any existence of it

I watched it......and i also watched the Taylor/ Barny final.
Both were great matches but the standard of the Taylor/Barny final was different class to Wolfie/Nixy final.
I reckon there are at least 12 players from the PDC that would wipe the floor with Wolfie and co....you only have to look at the averages to see this.
PDC all were around 95 and over....top boys were 100 and over!
Wolfies lot were peaking at 93/94 but were usually around the 85 to 90 mark.
No contest really.

The PDC have poached nearly all of their top players form the BDO. it is very rare that they create their own stars. The only reason that the BDO is weaker is because all of the top players move to PDC (cause of prize money). Barney was the top dog at BDO and has been for ages and is the first man to take Taylors PDC world title for 12 years! Scholton, Burnett, Barney, even Taylor and many others have all been taken from BDO.
The PDC are like the Chelsea of the dart world, they have all the money and take all the top players, its no wonder they are considered the best darts organisation.

I agree, this was brilliant stuff.
Dont get me wrong, the Barney/ Taylor final was far superior, in quality, but the wolfie/nixy final was less clinical and error strewn, which made great viewing.
The BDO will always play second fiddle to the PDC, simply because the PDC will attract the better players due to Matchroom and SKY's cash.
If they have a clash of world champs like years gone by, I reckon Barney will/should wipe the deck with wolfie!
I only wish pool was so popular with the TV audience...

I do think pool could be as popular with the audience, it just needs to get sponsors and coverage on TV. I think if pool got coverage on terrestrial tv it could really take off in this country.

Thats what I mean cusack_147 If it had the coverage, it would probably be a success, but it doesnt and that's why it isnt so popular.
I'm sure we both pray that day will come....

You are wrong Barney is not the first man to take Taylors title in 12years, John Part beat Phil Taylor in World Championship 2003 7-6 in sets. ----------------- Trust Me!

Agree with the comments, PDC is on another galaxy in terms of talent, but the BDO final was exciting to watch in terms of drama.
