I think a lot of players don't realise the amount of money available to be won if you're eligible to compete for individual points.

Personally I see it as a great incentive to actually have some table time in between GB9 events without going to practise against the same faces constantly.

Considering the vast majority of english 8 ballers will happily play up to 20 macthes per season for the chance of winning a plastic trophy (or another garden ashtray) I can see a lot of them signing up with the extra monetary incentive.

Then again maybe the regular posters are more interested in upping their post count with nonsensical jabs at people in english that a semi literate gerbil could better.

Hi everyone

in response to feedback from several members about monthly pay cheques coming in after the deadline we have decided to revise the date for final applications.

All individual applications must now be in by Monday 28th December 2009.

Teams must be registered by Monday January 4th 2010. Leagues will commence week beginning 11th January.

Also on January 4th we will be releasing details of the County Leagues. If you are already a registered player at that stage the discount for joining both will still apply.

So far i have sent out over 500 application forms and am cofident this will be a great success.

For those who have taken the time to offer feadback i'd like to thank you all. Remember the pupose of these leagues is to help develop OUR sport. Feel free at anytime to contact me via email with ideas, suggestions and feedback.

To our future success's

Big Tone

It's funny, some famous names missing from an amateur line up!??

I dont know where else the top 64 (amateurs) think they'll play for a chance of £6k for top boy, for only a fiver a week?!! (and a further £3k for runners up!)

Full prize fund breakdown will be released shortly.

hi can you explain this a bit further please... does this mean top 32 player cant win any prize money in a team?..quote...
"If you are registered in the last 2 years on a national/professional cue-sport tour ie GB 9 Ball Tour/ EPA/ Snooker etc and are ranked in the top 32 (snooker top 64) as of Dec 1st 2009 or have represented England in the last 5 years at a cue-sport, you are not eligible to earn points to qualify for the prize fund."

thanks mark

Thats correct Mark.

The idea of the leagues is to offer a base for the game of 9 ball to grow in the UK. as we are trying to attract amateurs There had to be some exclusions.

Details of a County structure will be released shortly, where there are no restrictions on who qualifies to play.

i Believe your local Rileys has a lot of interest in this. Are you gonna put a team in?

The prize fund is biased heavily to individual performance, Whilst money can be won for a team with the inclusion of a top 32 player there are certain criteria that needs to be filled.

No team can have more than one of the following.

a, one top 32 player per team, other team members have to be outside top 64.

b, 2 top 32 - 64, other members have to be outside top 64.

So if you have a top 32 player in your team their team can win prize money but they cant qualify for individual prize monies.

A major statement is about to be made at lunch tomorrow, so if you need more info pm me your number and i'll ring in the morning.

gonna turn it in now, night all.

GB9 Leagues, Great Britain's Official 9 Ball League is delighted to confirm that the mouth-watering £25,000 prize money in it's inaugral season is now guaranteed.

The Leagues will see teams of three players compete against each other in singles and scotch doubles action over three periods of twelve weeks, culminating in a Regional and National series of finals. Each player's final ranking within the weekly updated National League table will determine who goes forward into the National Finals.

The innovative system will see the table split into ten equal divisions and the top point scorers from their respective division will be fighting it out for a percentage of the guaranteed £25,000 prize fund. This means players ranked highest in the top division come October 2010 will be cueing for a share of a cool £9,000, whereas players placing highest in Division 10 will be fighting for a share of £500. The pay-out structure is aimed to encourage players of all abilities and the previously unheard of idea that is rewarding grass-roots enthusiasts.

GB9 Leagues Chief Executive, Tony Weafer, commented, "Having the prize fund guaranteed is an amazing result. Our vision is to promote the sport of American Pool in Britain to heights that many believed it couldn't reach. By guaranteeing the £25,000, we want to send a message out that GB9 Leagues is the future...and a realistic one for every player. The good news doesn't end there either, we'll be announcing details of our primary sponsor within the next week, to say I'm excited would be playing it down".

To play in the GB9 Leagues' inaugral season, please visit www.gb9leagues.com and complete the online application form for registration.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all the enquiries and questions. Sorry for the delay in responding to some, but on friday i fell on some black ice and wrecked my knee!, so its put me a little behind.

However all applications have now been responded to and all questions, a reply sent. I do have however about 5 delivery failure reports from emails provided, so if you have applied with no response please try again and ensure you supply the correct email address.

To date i have had 562 enquiries from around the country!!.

Each Rileys club should now have a poster up in the reception, showing who's applied and your clubs chosen league night.

More details released tomorrow.

Im confused.. why is it 3 people per team? why not just have a pure scotch double team or a pure singles league or just both of them. It makes no sense to have 3?

For example my mates who i play with dont want to to waste £20 and £5 every week so another £150 +... so which do i enter just if i want to play in the single play.

I find this awfully confusing.
