---QUOTE-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hye dave

i need to buy a new break jump cue , i tried the power break 2 made by mezz and i enjoy it very much .
what do you think about the tiger icebreaker, in france

nobody have one it's impossible to me to try it ?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MEZZ POWER BREAK DI II

The Positives
The Mezz Power Break II with Deep Impact shaft is an awesome piece of technology, and a very high quality precision piece of engineering bordering on artistic mastery... I LOVE it. So beautiful, so well made, so brilliantly designed, steeped in useful functions like the adjustable balance rings, so effective in use. Unsurpassed in my mind!

The Negatives
Not everyone can get along with the shorter than normal cue length, and you need to be a "believer" that this helps to stop the white centre table, and secondly, this is solely a break cue, no jump options.

TIGER ICEBREAKER JUMP/BREAK CUE

The Positives

The Tiger IceBreaker Jump/Break Cue's front end technology is superb, the innovative dual material tip construction with the leather core surrounded by a phenolic jacket is no less that an inspired work of design and offers superb functionality. The butt of the IceBreaker has the added benefit of offering no less than two jump cue options. A short jump cue for close up "hopping" and a longer jump cue for longer range accuracy.

The Negatives
For such an expensive cue, the butt section joints sections are bare (untreated) wood-to-wood and look unattractive and sloppy.

OVERALL

Both cues are incredible - and expensive... But I would be happy to own either of them. The deciding factor for me would be the added functionality of the IceBreaker... If I needed a dual purpose cue you would HAVE to choose the IceBreaker, and I would be very happy with that.

But if it were solely on which is the better break cue, I would choose the Power Break II because it is so well made in it's entirety.

Both cues and their prices in £'s and €'s can be viewed here....

The above is just my own humble and personal opinion, gleaned from the limited experience I have with these cues, and I always recommend players should attempt to find a friend who has one so they can try out a product like this for themselves before buying online. As you said there is no one in France with one of these you are asking for advice from people you know and trust... That is why I now ask all Pro9'ers to add there thoughts, because this really is the best forum for knowledgeable, experienced and professional pool players. Ultimately, whatever anyone says, you may need to make a leap of faith when buying. I hope this helps, and good luck.

Hi,

I have a Mezz Power break 2 and I think its an excellent cue, best break cue I have played with. Contrary to Dave's comments about jumping, you can unscrew the butt and use this as a very good jump cue (although it takes a while to unscrew) and as its shorter than normal a full cue jump is much easier to execute.

Again just my humble opinion also.

P.S. I have never used an Ice Breaker so can't comment on that.

Cheers,

James.

If its shorter than a normal jump cue will it still meet the minimum legal length of 40"

:-?

That part of the cure is still the same length as far as I am aware although haven't measured it. The butt you unscrew is the short bit I think.

Good point though I'll check tonight and report back. lol

IMO i wouldn't get either.
I would get either a 2nd hand x-breaker or a Predator BK2 and a normal jump cue like a Lucasi jumper.

Its shorter than a full length cue by something like 4 inch.

The whole cue (when used as a breaker) is shorter yes, but if you unscrew the butt i think the amount of cue left is the same as a normal jump cue.

Measured the Mezz last night and with the butt unscrewed the jump cue left is longer than a normal jump cue so is legal.

Hope that clears things up, oh and it works great.
