Surely for the price you payed for my balls would let me have a bash on your rack  Just ordered mine anyway pal. Can we use it in league or do we have to use tapping mat?

FOR SALE, MAGIC BALL RACK!!!! Only joking but i've gotta tell ya i'm not impressed 1 bit. 10 out of 10 for setting the balls nice and tight but they don't break properly at all. It must be because the balls are sat on the paper like meterial, definately a lack of friction to the cloth or somethin like that. You can watch all the videos you like but until you've actually felt your own break you won't see what i mean. Anyone else tried it yet?

Yes I have along with Craig Dixon and Simon D'Vali and it's awesome mate. So slightly confused as to how you got that result, apart from you I haven't heard anyone who has tried it say a bad thing about it so a bit confused. Try ironing it but obviously not on steam setting, as I know that ironing it takes creases out.

Got mine today.

That is one of the things that I am interested in seeing what happens; whether the paper will cause less friction thus affecting how the balls disperse.

I am a little sceptical as to the life span of the paper as well; with these little indents I can only see it being ripped apart from the very first break but lets wait and see! :)

i think that the paper is so thin it really doesn't effect the split of the balls.

I think the best way you could explain what your saying is to take a video of you breaking 10 ball with and without the rack

from that we can see what you mean about the balls not spreading right

I think a video will tell a 1,000 words

it was used in the Philippine open and i am sure they would not let it be used if it effected the balls in such a way

Just my opinion.

i look forward to seeing a video

Yeah i know what you are all sayin but i played 3 sets today. I only used it for the first coz it was frustratin me and the guy i was playin felt the same. I dished the 1st 3 racks of the second set and it just felt like they were breakin a lot better without it. Maybe it was that table who knows. Not given up hope yet thou, if you guys are enjoying it so much there must be somethin in it.

As for its durability, i'm sure it won't last forever but if you look after it i'm sure you'll get plenty of use out of it. I don't think it is that super thin thou, it just seems like a slightly stiffer paper.

If you can rack decent and your table allows you to do so, then fair play. Majority of players can't rack properly and tables in the UK don't afford a perfect rack this so thats where this gadget comes into its own.

Played about 100 racks so far with it and the pros definitely outweigh any cons. Frozen rack for me is way and interference is minimal at best.

I used to break like a small girl with a muscle wasting disease but now I break like Bustamante on a hot day ;-)

I believe a 4 month life span (of constant use) is achievable if treated correctly. The manufacturer quotes this. To be honest, its possibly more with care.

Something was pointed out to me last night by PC which was very thought provoking.....

You would still be better marking an area for the rack on your table. For instance, if you didn't make the wing on your first break, without marking the rack on the table you will definitely make it the next time with small adjustments.

Marking it out so the balls are in the same spot each time will definitely avoid any....er.......confrontations.....lol.

Some more feedback, this time from France!

"Hi,

Just letting you know this rack is fantastic - greatly speeds up ball setup and lets you have a decent rack every time (even if the table isn't that good). Think there was only one time in 3 hours where it couldn't be removed from the table and a ball rolled off track on it. But I won that rack so it doesn't matter.

Cheers"

Had a go with it over the weekend and it really does a great job.

I didn't find that the 9/10 ball moved too much from the centre of the rack and the balls were splitting very well.

The only issue I found was that when using the 10-ball paper rack racking for 10-ball, the extra bit at the back of the rack where the bottom ball of the 9-ball rack would usually go was moving up slightly from the bed of the table (presumably because of the weight from the balls at the front of the rack). This could cause a few problems but it didn't seem to affect the split of the balls which is good.

I am a little perplexed as to why the 10-ball rack has the bottom ball for 9-ball included when the set also comes with the 9-ball rack? Seems strange.

Because it can be used both as 9-ball and 10ball rack :)
