What is this? The front page article...that picture, is it some sort of Halloween thing. The page has been viewed over 100 times yet it has only attracted one comment. What is going on?
For over three years now the GB9 Tour has done a magnificent job of creating the best tour in the world. Their recent initiatives were about to take it to an even higher plane. Now they will find themselves neutered
This is a sheer insult to those at GB9 who have already performed this task. I see only one recognisable name there - Craig Osborne. The words THIRTY, PIECES and SILVER spring to mind.
Craig, what gives you the power to deprive players of their right to choose who represents them.
Who said so?
British players are being told that they are represented by an organisation that weaseled it's way into the UK on the back of a dubious EPBF connection.
This should be the GB9's responsibility by right. What is going to happen in 2011. After next year they will have no input and GB9 rankings will become irrelevant.
If you love and care about the game you should back up Lee Rigby and his dedicated team for the effort that they have put in for you. Tell the Bogus British Pool Association to stick themselves where the sun does not shine.

Of course it is a 100% criticism of Craig and I know he is your friend Phil. But detach yourself from that and rethink things. Just in case there is any doubts or an ambiguity on my views on this subject then let me clear them up. The way that the game is structured is fundamentally wrong. It deprives players of their rights to follow their chosen profession. The WPA and it's continental federations that are under their banner are calling the shots on who, how and where you can play. The EPBF is a flawed organisation that bullies players and it does not have a mandate for many of the things that it does. The Euro Tour overall is a good tour but it has used the federation status of the EPBF to provide commercial opportunities for it's private individuals{.If that were not so then why were the GB9 people not allowed to make a competitive presentation for membership? ) Yet the WPA support this. It is OK for insiders but let a player try it and he will soon find out how hard it is. The best player in the world at the moment is probably WU Chia Ching. Why is he NOT Playing in any major event. Because he took a commercial decision to leave his homeland to better his lifestyle. But political dictats are keeping him out of the game The UK used to be the Hub of this game. Players used to come from Europe to play in our events. We had the World Championship in Cardiff, the World Masters at Lakeside, the Mosconi Cup at Bethnal Green. The best players in the World reside on these shores. Now they are set to follow Wu down the same bleak road without basic human rights. [ This message was edited by: Doug on 2009-11-20 15:54 ]

Why am I not surprised to see that a vice-precident in EPBF can be precident of IBP and tournament director for the Eurotour AND precident of a national federation? I can't believe that it was possible to find a picture of David without a hat when he has so many hats to wear... Only possible in pool........ Are there lack of good people to choose from in England/UK? No wonder the pool world is standing still when the same few people have all the power... Democracy, or is it democrazy? Doug,
As a fence sitter in this minor debate, I would like to point out the following.
1. When the BPPPA first came around, Craig was one of the last to jump ship, as he felt the need to support the existing Pro9 tour.
2. He didn't play both events, and stayed loyal to the original Pro9 tour right until the bitter end - as did I.
3. He only moved tours when one had finished and it was the only way he could play competitive 9 ball other than Mickey Flynns.
Maybe he might be branded a Judas for joining the board of a tour formed under dubious circumstances, however perhaps he is just supporting the tour, and helping to promote the tour which is going to be the future of UK 9 Ball regardless.
If the new tour is going to be backed by higher powers, the chances are that it is the future, regardless whether or not Craig is involved.
Oh, and just in case this message is taken with a pinch of salt as people know that Ossie and I go quite a way back, we haven't spoken in a while - this is just a post to jog your memory, and perhaps let people know a little more about Craig's integrity.

This is not a comment on Craig's association with the GBPA. But i would like to respond regarding another inference in this post. I just wanted to state that the GBPA have approached the GB 9 Ball Tour to talk about the development of the GBPA, and particularly how GB9 and the GBPA might work in tandem. As part of this we have been assured that there is no intention to establish or attempt to develop a rival tour to GB9. So i would just like to quash any rumour to that effect before it develops in any way, shape or form. GB 9 Ball Tour is and will remain Britain's official (and only) professional 9 ball pool tour. As a committee we will be talking with David regarding the implications of these developments for GB9 members, and the relationship with GB9. Naturally we do not wish to pre-empt such discussions by commenting further here. Best wishes, Jonathan Mathers GB 9 Ball Tour Committee [ This message was edited by: nicknameless on 2009-11-20 16:57 ]

Mr Nipper, i would hold fire on that statement. there's plenty going on in the background, and no it does not affect me, DM was asked at the start if we could run it and he said no..
any problems with that and my solicitor will clarify.

This is not a tour! This is a federation - plane and simple. Meaning that the players in the UK can play right across europe and the world as part of an official federation. GB9 is not a federation, and has never pretended to be one. GB9 is by far the most well organised, professionally run, Fairly run and most successful tour this country has ever seen - full stop. Doug - an awful lot of respect for you i have, and this is not the place to let feelings get the better of you. All i will say is that David Morris has british pool at the heart of his intentions and i believe this to be true. GB9 will flourish, and GBPA will roll along side making sure that the players can play everywhere, opening up new doors for GB9 in terms of qualifiers, wild cards etc etc. But most importantly - the main focus is on the youths, What the EPBF have done with the youth set up is amazing, Phil Burford will have tasted and sampled it first hand after traveling to the World Junior Championships. GBPA will try to ensure that all the youngsters have a solid start in the country - this can only be good for GB9 and pool in this country. My role At present all i will be doing is overseeing actions and having ALL players intentions at heart, i have said yes just so i know pool players are not getting 'stiffed' to coin a pool payers term. That is all i know at this stage - I love the game, everybody knows that. And the people that REALLY know me, know that i would not try to step on GB9 - no one is more excited than me about next seasons GB9!!! god i cant wait! i would have to leave this stating that im not surprised about the skeptics coming forward, that was always going to happen - and its fair for them to do so, as it gives others the chance to put the record straight. I am sure David will post one almighty post at some stage outlining everything we have spoken about - and all will be well. Peace to the pool world - i love you all got a plane to catch and a tournament to play in, (That maybe i wouldnt have been able to do this time next year if it wasnt for GBPA!?) Thanking Nick for his comments - aint spoken to him in literally years, but he knows me better than most, even now. Ossie - i just wana play! so if i have to be a part of something in order for that to happen, why fight it - life is far far far far far to short! still smiling..... Every tour needs a darkside!
