Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour held its second 14.1 event of the season with a lot more players trying out this fantastic American Cue-Sport game which was played in Frames Snooker & Pool Club Belfast at the weekend past when the tours number one ranked player Paddy Mc Loughlin went one step better than the last number of tournaments to claim the title.

2008 Irish 14.1 Masters Semi-Finalists
Declan Hughes (Armagh, runner-up), and Manny Byrne (Down).
Paddy won the 2008 Irish 14.1 Masters with 150-136 score-line over his arch arrival Declan Hughes who has won most tournaments this year on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tours 2008 tournament diary. But on this occasion it was Mc Loughlin who turned on the style in the Belfast venue to claim the Masters title.
Throughout the tournament Mc Loughlin was in fine form, stepping up his game from the last-16 onwards to reach the final, recording great victories over Mark Mc Donald (Antrim, 75-65), Sean Judge (Antrim, 75-29), Gareth Deegan (Dublin, 75-48 ) before defeating the last 14.1 champion in another great final.
The final itself saw Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour's top two ranked players battle it out for the 2008 Irish 14.1 Masters title with both players producing top class action, but it was Mc Loughlin who came from the shadows of defeat when the tours number one ranked player came from behind trailing 136 - 113 with Declan only needing 14 balls before Paddy put in a fantastic break of 37 to be crowned the 2008 Irish 14.1 Masters Champion adding another title victory to his impressive CV.
