Maltese snooker star Tony Drago joins GB9 Ball Tour Pro Division permanently!

Tony Drago will be permanently added to the GB9 Pro Division starting at Wealdstone, taking the vacancy made available by Steve Brown who has relinquished his spot for personal reasons. Drago has seen his pool profile ascending to stratospheric heights after notable wins at international standard 9 ball and 10 ball events, and has won fans around the world with his no nonsense approach and quick-fire style which appears to be more suited to the world of professional pool.

The "Disher" - Tommy Donlon will be making his first appearance as a reserve - in for Andy Richardson who cannot make this event. Donlon could be a big threat if he brings his "A" game with him, he was one of the UK's most dominant players in previous years - this tour HAS to be the toughest in Europe - and it just got tougher!

YES... It's GB9 Ball Tour time again, and with the list of entrants looking like a European list of 9-ball superstars, Pro9 will be there reporting with up-to-the-minute results, photos, videos, interviews, and will be making the long awaited draw for the FREE OB-1 Shaft... And The Pro Shop will have plenty of stock for those unlucky enough not to win one!

The prize fund at each of the six planned events tops the £11,000 mark, with three tournaments on each weekend, comprising of an elite "Professional" 32 player event, a "Challenge" event for the remaining 96 players, and the "Main" event for the full 128 player field.

Former Mosconi Cup player Imran Majid has made himself at home on the final tables at the GB9 events, taking down both the "Main" event, as well as "The Pro Cup" again and again to sweep up a tonne of cash, a swag bag of trophies, and two of the most prestigious number one ranking spots in pool!

Imran Majid with a brace of trophies from the GB9 Midlands Classic.

Majid is based in London, and at Harrow he will surely hunting even more scalps and trying to consolidate his supreme ranking position with another good performance, once again close to home. His main threats will be from Gray, Peach, Appleton, and of course Drago and Donlon are added to the mix now too.

Bradley Parker and Thomas Ainsworth-Smith shake hands before the Challenge final.

The Challenge Division is headed up by Thomas Ainsworth-Smith, who stormed to the top of the leader-board and has sat there since the start, as immovable as Majid on the Pro Cup, this youngster has repeatedly hammered home win after win with a consistency that is breathtaking. Time will tell if the pressure to repeat this performance has reached it's peak, and to what effect.

The GB9 Tour, sponsored in it's inaugural year by Rileys Pool, Snooker and Poker Clubs, has drawn talent from the length and breadth of the country, who will be putting the final touches to their practice routines in readiness for what must be the toughest national tour in Europe.

The GB9 official match cloth is sponsored by Z9Billiard Cloth by Klaus Zobrekis, a new company with a new high tech cloth, designed after three years of intensive development, and aimed at the top end of the market for professional "worsted" pool/billiard cloth for American style tables.
