Due to strong storms and flooding in the New Hampshire area, The International Pool Tour North American Open Qualifier previously scheduled in Manchester, New Hampshire has been rescheduled and moved to Toronto, Canada. As a result of flooding, the venue in Manchester would not be able to make the needed repairs in time for the tournament.

The International Pool Tour announces that Danny Green's Billiards in Toronto, Canada will host an IPT North American Open 8-Ball Championship Qualifier June 2-5, 2006. This qualifying tournament will be a Double-Elimination competition with races to ten. The first and second place competitors will secure spots in the 2006 IPT North American 8-Ball Open Championship at the Venetian Las Vegas held on July 22-30, 2006. Players who advance to the Venetian Las Vegas will compete for their share of an unprecedented $2,000,000 prize fund and an historic first place prize of $350,000. The International Pool Tour is the largest pool tour in the history of billiards, and represents the best pocket billiards players from 27 countries. The IPT has six major professional pool tournaments in 2006 with qualification pocket billiards tournaments throughout the world for aspiring professional pool players. Never in the history of billiards have there been tournaments to offer such large prize funds and first place prize monies.
The North American Open 8-Ball Championship will consist of 200 players, 150 IPT Members and 50 players who qualify through 25 qualification events throughout North America and abroad.
