Carl Morris is trying to raise £50,000.00...

Utilising a novel fund raising technique, pool exhibitions for charity, Carl Morris is starting on his way to raising £50,000 for charity, which will culminate in his most ambitious charity stunt ever...

A record breaking trek to the North Pole - and he's aiming to become the first deaf person to reach the North Pole by foot!

Click on "Read More..." for the details of how you can help.

Carl's distinctive number plate indicates I'm at the right place.

Carl is doing 30 pool exhibition nights for charity, free of charge, all over the UK while trying to juggle this with his IPT Pool career and business which won't be easy.

27 are already confirmed, 2 already being done, and 25 more lined up - but he thinks it'll be worth the blood and sweat if he can present the NDCS with a cheque for a whopping £50,000 at the end of it all.

The table is prepared for the Maestro, the crowd awaits patiently.

Carl tells an hilarious joke about a rake, his girlfriend, and the importance of sign language.
It had the audience in stitches...
If you haven't heard it, it's worth going just to hear Carl tell it!

"It may seem like a daunting amount to raise, but it doesn't have to be you - the landlord can, in return for getting the exhibition free, raise the money and his reward will be exposure and bar takings for the day/night. 20 sponsorship forms @ £50 each is a grand, and money can be raised on the night too. I am looking for a minimum of £1,500 per venue/event if I am to achieve the £50,000 mark, but the great thing is we have almost a year to raise the money - I can do the exhibiton whenever you like - it does not mean the money has to be raised before then - it can continue after I've gone, and sent through when the final amount is achieved."

Carl sets up a multi-ball trickshot.

"I am deaf, and I know what it's like to be a deaf child with a future that looks bleak but I am one of the lucky ones who made it. By doing this I will enable ten deaf children to have a cochlear implant which will enable them to hear again, and thus increasing their prospects of a better life."

A very tough trick shot - Carl jumps the cueball into a shoe!

The National Deaf Children’s Society vision is of a future without barriers for every deaf child. NDCS is the only UK charity solely dedicated to providing support, information and advice for deaf children and young people, their families and professionals working with them.

An ecstatic challenger leaves the table with a tale to tell after being one of the
few people to beat the former World Champion on this night.

If you want to catch the man himself in action, the next two events are:

  • Neil Tom's Place in Hertford (Ware) on Sat 18th Nov and
  • Green Baize, Hanley, Stoke on Trent on Sat 16th December.

If you'd like to host one of these events be quick because 27 are already booked up, contact Carl or Rose immediately - Tel: 01782 392665 / Mob: 07740 411699 or email: info@poolexhibitions.com

The finale of Carl's charity fund raising will be an ice field trek to the North Pole!

The Arctic expedition aims to make a surface crossing of the Arctic Ocean between latitude 89N and the Geographic North Pole at 90N.

Known as "The Last Degree". The team of 6 including Carl, will be undertaking a foot journey of 60 nautical miles (approximately 70 statute miles).
