"The Wimbledon of Billiards"

Last weekend in Moscow in sport complex “Olimpiiskiy” ended the 7th International billiard tournament Kremlin Cup.

This year in the tournament participated record number of sportsmen: 393 (incl. 80 pool players). Moreover, “Kremlin Cup” was visited by many famous pool players such as Ralf Souquet, Nick van den Berg, Niels Feijen, Radoslav Babica, Alexander Kazakis, Nicholas Malay and others.

Furthermore, the competition in pool was open, so she had to play against 76 men (another 3 girls who participated in the “Kremlin Cup” with Centeno were from Moscow). Although it was hard, she performed well, and managed to reach the Last 32 Stage. At the awards ceremony she received a “People’s Choice Award”.

Apropos the finals, in pyramid competitions won three-time world champion 16-years old famous sportswoman Diana Mironova (pyramid. women), and world champion Eugeniy Stalev (pyramid. men). And in a new feature for the "Kremlin Cup" discipline pool “10” the golden prize went to Mateusz Sneigocki from Poland.

All final matches were very hard and entertaining. Diana Mironova could only triumph over her opponent, world champion Olga Milovanova, only in the last set.

The Kremlin Cup "10"-ball Open ended unpredictably. Many people gave victory to the legendary sportsman Ralf Souquet from Germany, but he was defeated by Poland's Mateusz Sneigocki in the semifinals.

The last final of the Kremlin Cup was the final of pyramid among men. The match between Eugeniy Stalev and Kanibek Saginbaev was really spectacular and hard for both sportsmen. Both finalists showed the filigree technique of billiard. The result: 5:3
