Qualification stages end in Kaunas

The fourth and last qualification stage of the Olympic-Online Baltic Pool League 2011 is held 15.10.-16.10.11 in Kaunas, Lithuania. This time the game is 8-ball and in addition to the prize fund there are determined the best 32 to reach the final stage in Tallinn 12.11-13.11.11 to compete for the prize fund of 2700 Euros.

The first Kaunas stage was won by the local hero Marius Siaudkulis. However there were absent two Estonian big guns - Denis Grabe and Erki Erm. This time they are there and need the highest possible finish to reach the final stage. The fact is that there will be many nail biting matches and we'll see whether the winner of the Kaunas stage is someone from the hosts, one of the Estonian big guns, last stage winner Kait Hinn or someone from the Latvian players that should have the record number of attendance in this event. Latvains are hungry for the win as they have yet to win the event.

In women's division there was a great surprise in the last stage in Riga when for the first time in the events history were no Lithuanian players in the final. In that final showed the host Anna Prisjazhnuka her superiority when she clearly overcame Estonian player Irina Laidro. The treat for the last qualification is to see whether the Lithuanian girls manage to establish their supremacy once again or would Prisjazhnuka be the first women player ever to defend her title or maybe is someone from Estonians the one to make history by winning first ever stage for Estonians.
