University Teams battling for EUSA Billiards Cup 2010

Invited University teams representing their countries are currently taking part in the first pan-European tournament of it's type in Tallinn, Estonia.

Each University was invited to enter teams comprising a maximum of five men’s athletes and three women’s athletes as well as up to four officials including a Head of Delegation - and whilst numbers have been very low in this first year, the very agreeable hospitality bodes well for the future growth of this event.

Britain is represented by 3 participants from the University of York, and our very own Pro9'er - Lee Mager, from the London School of Economics, plus Oliver Dark (Pro9's OJD) as Head of Delegation from the UK's University Pool Council.

The event runs for four days, starting from 9th August with the finals and closing ceremonies occurring o the 14th and players returning home on the 4th August.

All participants are being accommodated in the 4 star class Reval Park Hotel, all rooms have free wireless internet, and the hotel is situated about 10-15 min walk from Historical center of the city and approximately 750m away from Baribal billiards club (event venue).

Three disciplines are being competed, 8 Ball, 9 Ball, and 10 Ball, with the "all-around" winner being named as European Universities Cup Champion. Home grown talent Denis Grabe from Tallinn University of Technology has a head start in the title race after taking the 8 Ball on the first day, and medals will be awarded to the top three placed participants as well as special gifts from tournament sponsors and partners.
