All Russian final for Girls 9 Ball at European Youth Championships in Netherlands!

After Germany's Simone Kunzl dominated the Girls 8 and 10 Ball events, taking the gold place in both disciplines, I found myself wishing for an "Ouschan-esque" clean sweep by the talented Stuttgart player, but it was not to be as she fell to Russia's Nataliya Seroshtanin the semi-finals of the 9-Ball and settles for bronze.

That set up an interesting all-Russian final between Seroshtan and Anastya Nechaeva - neither of these players are new to the final stages of competition as both won medals in 2009, but it was Nechaeva who was the slight favourite on paper, and true to form she took the final match with a 6:4 victory score.

The variety of action couldn't be wider at the European Pool Championships as Girls, Pupils, and Juniors all challenge themselves to represent their countries in 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball, Straight Pool and Team events being held in the sumptuous surroundings of the Golden Tulip Jagershorst this week in the Netherlands.
