2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup - Shane takes the early lead
SHANE VAN BOENING, looking to make his ninth appearance in the PartyPoker USA Mosconi Cup, is the early leader in the nine tournament qualification series for the three automatic spots.
So far, four events have been played and Van Boening carries a 12 point lead over second placed Justin Bergman, following a strong showing at the recent USBTC in Reno, which included winning the 9 ball division.
The third automatic spot is currently occupied by Jeremy Sossei on 26 points, with Skyler Woodward and Scott Frost both snapping at his heels on 25 points.
Players who finish in the top 32 in the qualifying events will receive ranking points and there are three categories of tournaments with differing amounts of points awarded accordingly.
The next event in the series is the Super Billiards Expo which takes place from 16-19 April in Oaks, outside of Philadelphia. This is a Category2 event.

2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup - Front Runners set out their stalls
THE RACE FOR the three automatic spots on 2015 European PartyPoker Mosconi Cup team is well underway with two events on the nine event series having recently completed. Like last year, there are three separate ranking lists in operation – the first comprised of a five event Euro Tour series; the second a four event ‘World’ series and the last a combined ranking of the two.
Last year’s MVP Niels Feijen (Holland) leads on the Euro Tour list, having won the Treviso Open in Italy at the weekend. Spain’s David Alcaide, a European team member in 2006, heads up both the ‘World’ list and the ‘Combined’ list, after reaching the last four of the recent WPA World 10 Ball Championship in the Philippines.
At the close of the qualification series in October, the No.1 ranked player on each of the three lists will be named as part of Team Europe as they look to defend their title in Las Vegas from 7th to 10th December.
In the event that a player tops all three ranking lists, then the second placed players on the Euro Tour and World Rankings respectively would take the other two spots. If a player is top of the Euro Tour list and Combined list, or World list and Combined list, then the available spot would go to the next highest player on the Combined list not already qualified.

Wildman battles hard to Win Total9Ball Amateur Series Event 2
On Saturday 28th February 2015 Total9Ball assembled another full 32 player field for the second edition of the Dynamic Billard Amateur Series 2015. This season T9B made the decision to limit each event to the first 32 paying players only. We are trying to guaranteed a full field of committed players at each event. This far it’s been very success with two full events and with spaces being booked and paid for 3 weeks prior to the event. If players would like to enter this fantastic series of events it's crucial to commit and pay up early to guarantee your space.
Matches began at 10.30am and the first round draw produced some mouth-watering matches. Phil Wildman’s day got off to a flyer as he defeated Fabio Severo 7v2, Bob Harris started the event off well as he also won by a 7v2 score line against Brian Cassidy. Mark Parker and Tom Staveley’s event would also begin with 7v2 victories against Apostalis Harmas and Kevin Woods respectively. Tommy Donlon was the lowest handicapper in the event on a -4 handicap but this didn’t stop him winning the battle of Leicester against travelling companion Aslam Abubaker 7v4 and Tommy wasn’t the only player from Leicester achieving a first round victory as Mark Williams kept his focus against Vesalin Paprandanov running out a 7v5 winner.

Day 3 - Feijen wins Dynamic Billard Italian Open
With a clear 9:2 victory over Nick Malai (GRE) in the final match, Niels Feijen (NED) took the title of the Dynamic Billard Italian Open Champion 2015 at the Best Western Premium BHR Hotel in Treviso, Italy, today.
Feijen left no chance for Malai in the final. In the beginning, Malai missed some easy shots which was punished by Feijen straight away. It looked like Malai got really frustrated, being in his chair for so long watching Feijen take rack after rack. In fact, Malai could not get a foot on the floor in the final match. Therefore, the result of 9:2 in favor of Feijen is fully deserved.
After winning the 9-Ball World Championships and the straight pool European Championships last year, Feijen had his last Euro-Tour victory in June 2013 in Austria. He was in the final against Nick van den Berg in December but he lost that quite clear. „I got tortured last time by Nick, so I am really happy that I was able to win it this time“, stated Feijen. „I think that around 40 guys can win a Euro-Tour. It is one the devils playground of a competition. I am very happy to win this tournament“, added Feijen.

Win tastes sweet for Bangkok’s Beer
The aptly named Beer Baraku, a highly regarded street player who hones his trade in the many clubs and bars of Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, drained the field dry as he claimed the SAN MIGUEL 9-BALL CHINESE MASTERS title this previous weekend at The Players.
The highly sought-after prize might just quench his thirst for success for a short-time at least. After collecting his Chinese New Year ‘ang pao’ of 16,000 Thai Baht, Beer (THA) also received the gold medal and a fine plate trophy to add to his growing haul of wins in the City of Angels.
As runner-up (8,000 THB) there is certainly none more worthy than Megabreak pool-hall manager and MEZZ 10-BALL ASIA tour player Scott Cooney (ENG). On Sunday Scott entered the last 16 as the top seed having “dodged a few bullets” in the short round-robin qualifications with a staggering ratio of 15 racks to 2.
