Tony "The Tornado" Drago wins the French Euro Tour

In a thrilling final in which the lead was held by both players at various times, London resident Tony Drago who entered the final as the clear 3/5 favourite beat Germany's Christian Reimering with a 10:6 scoreline.

The Maltese player lived up to his name as he stormed through the field conceding the bare minimum of racks to his opponents - only Britain's Darren Appleton managed to threaten "The Tornado's" progress after a hill-hill scare in the last 16 stage, but after that it was plain sailing as he slew opponent after opponent with his dominating quick-fire style of play.

    "Read More..." for the details.

    No Brits in Quarter-Finals!!!

A slightly disappointing result for the rest of the British players as we've become accustomed to seeing them in the very final stages of these event in recent times.

Majid and Appleton went furthest with results that promoted them to the last 16 round, but losses to Feijen and Drago respectively ended hopes of a UK win in France.

Now we all hold our breath to discover who the top four ranked players will be after the updating of those all-important Euro Tour rankings, as the top 4 will be awarded a much coveted spot in Matchroom Sports "World Pool Masters" field.

    World Pool Masters "qualification"

This year, the World Pool Masters are to be held in Las Vegas to coincide with the BCA's annual "big-one" - making this year's Masters a very big deal indeed.

Often, televised cue-sports events suffer from poor audience attendance figures. It's not that people don't want to watch pool or snooker, it's just that it's rarely convenient.

Holding televised events at the same location and time as large national or international tournaments will surely provide a huge partisan crowd of spectators.
