Niels Feijen wins French Euro Tour
208 players started the tournament at Leader Club Billard 94 in Sucy-en-Brie, Paris, but there can be only one champion, and it was the pride of the Netherlands, Niels Feijen, who took the title, the trophy, and the prize money this weekend with a strong performance in the final against first time finalist Craig Osborne from Great Britain who took second place.
The field was, as usual, littered with celebrity players from all over Europe, plus a few extra special visitors from the US and Japan as international visitors made the most of their trip to Europe for the World Team Championships with a stay over that included the Euro Tour. Shane Van Boening and Yukio Akakariyama were the best performers for the two nations, reaching the Last 16 and Quarter-Finals respectively.
London resident from Malta, Tony Drago, had a momentous victory over pool supremo Darren Appleton in the Quarter-Finals, but received bronze place after a superior performance by Niels Feijen in the Semi-Finals, while Switzerland's Dmitri Jungo had to settle from Bronze too, after a resounding victory by Osborne.

Day Three (Morning) of the French Euro Tour

By the end of play today we will have a victor in France as the tournament will be played to a conclusion by the remaining 16 condenders.
As the days starts, both the United States and Japan are still represented in the last 16 stage as Shane Van Boening and Yukio Akakariyama will be trying to achieve the almost inconceivable as they attempt to win a EuroTour on their first ever visit!
The day will get underway with a live-streamed match up between two British players, as Daryl Peach and Darren Appleton, two of the deadliest players on tour this season, face-off at 10am for a place in the Quarter-Finals.

Day Two of the French Euro Tour
Photographs © EPBF / Bethan Louise Sage - & used by Pro9 with express permission. The Second Day of Action at the Leader Club Billard 94
The second day of action in France saw some surprising upsets as the players were whittled down through the double elimination process from the huge 208 player field from all over the World, to the single elimination stages of just thirty-two candidates - and then further halved in the evening to the final sixteen successful players!
Britain's Imran Majid is clearly not himself after failing to reach the final thirty-two stage, and he was joined on the bench by Scott Higgins, and Andy Worthington. Then later, in the evening, the Last 32 stage saw Chris Melling, Karl Boyes and Mark Gray fall, leaving just four Brits to carry the flag into the Last 16.

French Euro Tour gets underway today with some US players
Take a look at the entrants list for the Euro Tour's French Open event and you will spot some very familiar names from the US pool circuit as, for the first time ever, Shane Van Boening will be sampling the Euro Tour experience.
Shane, and a few other intercontinental players, have stopped over after the World Team Championships in Hannover, Germany, to test their metal once again against the best that Europe can provide - good luck Shane, and everyone else making the trip to France!
